2013 Worcestershire County Council Election
On Thursday 2nd May 2013, we fielded perhaps our strongest ever slate of candidates for the county elections, which includes existing candidates and others with a great record of public services.

John Raine was elected to serve as County Councillor for the Malvern Trinity division, defeating UKIP, the Conservatives, LibDems and Labour. John became (together with Worcester Green Matt Jenkins) the first Greens to be elected to the county council - a fantastic and very well-deserved achievement.
Elsewhere, Clive Smith put up a very brave fight defending the Link division that he won four years ago as a LibDem, eventually losing out to his Conservative opponent.
And throughout Malvern, despite limited resources, the Green Party performed extremely well - showing that we have a very strong body of residual support on which we can build in future.

2012 District Council By-Election
On 5th July, there was a by-election for the Malvern West District Council seat vacated by Luna Deller.
When her husband Adrian was made redundant, Luna had to take the very difficult decision - for the sake of her young family - to accept a teaching post abroad. This made it impossible for her to continue to represent Malvern West in the dynamic and hard-working way that she has in the 12 months since her election.
The successful Green candidate in the by-election was Julian Roskams. He has been involved in many community initiatives over the years. Most recently he was an integral part of Malvern Community Collective's campaign to save the youth centre for the community. As a town councillor he has been active in promoting an alternative to the DC's South Worcestershire Development Plan, and as chair of the planning committee allowing people to have a stake in the development of their local areas by means of neighbourhood development plans. He believes in positive campaigning, and that local politics is about getting involved, listening to what people want and getting things done. Profile of Julian Roskams.
2011 Local Council Elections
We worked hard to again re-elect councillor John Raine in Malvern West ward, and to elect Luna Deller for the first time in the same ward. Julian Roskams came within five votes of defeating the sitting Tory councillor in Malvern Link, and is now a Green Party town councillor, alongside colleague Anna Stenning. Malcolm Victory and Bob Dowler in Malvern Wells and Mel Platt in Priory also had excellent DC election results.
