Natalie McVey is the Malvern Hills Green Party Prospective Parliamentary Candidate for the June 8th 2017 General Election

We are delighted to announce that Natalie McVey was selected to be our prospective Parliamentary Candidate (PPC) in the forthcoming General Election.

Natalie McVey has lived in the Malvern Hills Area with her Husband Mike, 2 cats and 2 ancient indoor guinea pigs since 2015. Previous to this she lived in the Wyre Forest Area where she was the first Green Party Candidate to stand in a General Election. She appeared on The Sunday Politics Show in the run up to the 2015 General Election, and stood for other Councillorship roles on our behalf over the last four years, making her a seasoned campaigner.

She has BA Hons in Philosophy with Social Science from The University of Sussex, and for the last 9 years she has worked as Service Lead for Young People in Worcestershire County Council's Libraries, Learning and Arts Service. This countywide role includes organising the annual Young Poet Laureate Competition, engaging young people in projects and activities including volunteering to support The Summer Reading Challenge, and embedding Autism Friendly Libraries standards across all libraries.

Natalie is a Trustee of Young Solutions, and a member of Worcestershire Arts Partnership, leading to involvement in a number of high profile Arts projects in the West Midlands Region.

She founded a residents group within weeks of moving to The Malvern Hills Area and has voiced the views of her neighbours at Town Council Meetings.

Our new candidate loves to explore the countryside on foot and by bike, experiment with new recipes and read Young Adult fiction. She is also a huge Indie music fan and actively campaigned to keep BBC 6Music on the air.
Having been a vegetarian for 32 years, the last two years she has been vegan and is passionate about protecting the natural environment and opposing animal cruelty.

Natalie loves life and it's challenges and describes herself as an eternal optimist.

Qualities we're sure she will need in abundance in order to stand up for the fairer society that the Green Party would like to see. There will be opportunities to see Natalie in various hustings and locations around the constituency, if you want to know more - or indeed help the campaign in any way - please monitor the website regularly or contact the campaign team via Jackie on 564240.
