The Green Party is the only major political party in the UK that is committed fully to a life based on democracy and justice within the planet’s limits. We have always dared to be different – and we’ve always known the power of good ideas.
The four newly elected Green Party Members of Parliament, Sian Berry MP, Ellie Chowns MP, Adrian Ramsay MP, and Carla Denyer MP, quadrupled our representation in the Commons at the elections. The MPs pledged to hold the Labour government to account, urging them to adopt bold and necessary changes to improve Britain.
Ellie Chowns, MP for neighbouring North Herefordshire, commented after her arrival in parliament that “We are here to ensure that the Labour government doesn’t just talk the talk about change but walks the walk. Our ten steps are practical, achievable, and necessary and can all easily be delivered within 100 days with political will. They will stand as a signpost for whether Labour are serious about changing Britain for good. Our message today is that we will be relentless in both holding them to account and driving forward positive good ideas.”
Here in the Malvern Hills District, following the council elections, we have seven District councillors and three County councillors .
We’re working progressively on local issues; to improve the lives of all people in the Malvern Hills District , and to improve our local environment. As part of the Green Party of England & Wales, we share a deep concern for social and environmental justice, expressed through our national policies, we believe fair is worth fighting for.
We rely on people power rather than corporate finance in all that we do. Get involved with us today so that we can achieve so much more for our area.
