A ‘whale’ of a time at Malvern children’s story festival

Local Green councillors joined in the fun at Great Malvern’s Festival of Stories for Children last weekend.

Now in its second year, the festival – which ran from 24th to 29th October – saw thousands of local children and their families enjoying the opportunity to meet their favourite authors, including Francesca Simon (Horrid Henry books) and popular author and broadcaster Alice Roberts.

Councillors Natalie McVey (District Councillor for West Malvern and County Councillor for Malvern Trinity) and Jules Wood (District Councillor for Upper Howsell) volunteered in running the event in Priory Park, which also featured a life-sized 50ft inflatable sperm whale as one of the storytelling venues. The whale was part-funded by Cllr McVey from her County Council Divisional Fund, and added to a hugely successful event for local families.
